What is “Kızlar Sahada”?

Kızlar Sahada, established in 2013, is a private platform for women’s football and a social enterprise. (Social enterprise is the name given to a structure that works to develop solutions to address social issues, generates income through commercial activities, and provides innovative and entrepreneurial services to create social benefit.) Kızlar Sahada is an institution that is in contact with many public, private, and non-governmental organizations, as well as football clubs and associations, designing various programs to empower women and children in society against discrimination.

What is “Kızlar Sahada” NOT?

Kızlar Sahada is not a football club, association, or a project.

What is Kızlar Sahada’s objective?

Kızlar Sahada, opposing the “you CAN'T” rhetoric that especially girls and women are exposed to from a young age,; works to break gender stereotypes through football, one of the sports in which girls and women participate the least in Turkey. We invite and encourage women and girls to take to the field, to believe they can do what men can do, and to believe in a world where they don't isolate themselves. We advocate that sports and every profession are for everyone.

Who does Kızlar Sahada work with?

We work with people; of all ages and genders, who are interested in football and development.

Is there an age limit to participate in the activities of KizlarKızlar Sahada?

Kızlar Sahada is a platform where people of all ages, from 7 to 70, can find a place for themselves. Programs and activities may vary for certain age groups.

In which provinces does Kızlar Sahada operate?

You can see Kızlar Sahada’s current activities on the map of Turkey that you will see on the homepage of our website home webpage. Currently, our Visa Kızlar Sahada Football Schools are being held in Adana, Ankara, Erzincan, Istanbul, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Manisa (Soma), Ordu, and Şanlıurfa; and our 2021 Kotex Kızlar Sahada Athlete Development Program continues with athletes from 61 different cities. Apart from the project-based activities we organize, most of our programs, such as tournaments, are held in Istanbul.

I play football, how can I join you?

If you are a girl between the ages of 9-14, you can take part in our football schools. If you are a high school or university student, you can participate in our Youth Cup or University Cup tournaments. If you work at a corporation or just enjoy playing football for pleasure, you can join our Istanbul Cup tournaments. If you are a professional football player, you can be included in our developmental programs. With the increase of programs and activities and their spread throughout Turkey, Kızlar Sahada aims to organize programs that meet the needs of everyone and to be on the field all the time!

Do you provide financial support to female football players?

We provide financial, in-kind, and educational consultancy support to the clubs we have contracted with, within the scope of the programs we organize. We also provide scholarship support to athletes selected for our Athlete Development Program.

What does it mean to be a volunteer for Kızlar Sahada?

Being a Kızlar Sahada volunteer means volunteering to support the Kızlar Sahada team in line with its needs, whether on the field with operational matters, as a trainer in training, or through administrative tasks such as translation, social media outreach and graphic design.
